Some of these Copper Country beaches are pretty popular or well known. Searching Eagle Harbor, Eagle River, etc.. on Google will land plenty of information about the beaches, towns, sights, etc… These beaches just happen to be on a very popular route (Lake Superior Circle Tour) for travelers, visitors, and local weekend sight-seers. Eagle Harbor is a very cool little town with a very nice little beach. It is little, so it can get pretty crowded on nice days. Its a popular spot for a bonfire as well, protected in the sheltered bay. The beach has some playground equipment for children, and a small raft out in the marked swimming area. The town used to have a really nice ice cream shop, but I’m unsure if it is still in operation. Here’s a map.
The water here, by the way, is pretty nice. It is clean, yet slightly warmer than other Lake Superior waters because it is in a sheltered bay. Check out the shoreline viewer.
